This Means War
It's hell out there. With Diamond Comic Distributors enforcing their benchmark sales rule, Indie comic creators need preorders on their books like never before. I want to hi-light a few Indie books that are listed in the current Previews catalogue that, in my opinion, deserve your attention (and your preorders!). Please take a moment and consider these books.......
LONE AND LEVEL SANDS HC
by A. David Lewis, mpMann, & Jennifer Rodgers
Pharaoh Ramses II hasn't seen his long-lost cousin Moses in nearly forty years. Yet while pressed by the Hittites to the North and construction delays in the South, Ramses must make time for this ancient desert rascal, the long-ago mystery he represents, and the impossible demands of an alien deity. Drawing on the Bible, the Qur'an, and historical sources, writer A. David Lewis (Mortal Coils) and artist Marvin Perry Mann (Arcana Jayne) present a retelling of the Book of Exodus through the eyes of the man who is either its greatest leader, or its worst villain; a man trying to rule wisely, love his family well, and deal justly in the face of a divine wrath.

Lone and Level Sands is so goddamn delicious - I already own the B&W and I may need to double-buy the color, I saw some of the pages in Baltimore.
That chick on the cover of the Foxxy Music cover, the one on the right, that's a man, right?
Yeah, I saw some of the coloured pages, too...... they look freakin' awesome. ADL's got a winner on his hands! I hope enough people order it though.....
As for that girl being a guy..... With hips like that? Gotta be a woman.
Yes! Support those indies! Diamond nixed two of our titles, you know of one, the other is Battle for Earth #3 (the last part of the story). Wait, let me save it, I'm gonna go on a rant on my blog today. :D
Damn, Ed. That sucks.
The thing that really blows is that you don't even get a grace period or anything. You submit your labour of love, it gets listed in Previews, it gets low orders, it gets dumped. It's almost like all your work spent on making it a great comic should have been spent hyping it, instead.
I know that promotion is important. But now, it seems that its' importance is greater than that of the comic's.
Thanks for the kind words, Jason.

I'm not a very vocal person.... but when I pimp, I only pimp the good stuff.
:)
Ed, that does suck -- Will lend my words to your own at the blog.
And, Josh & Jason, you gents are quite kind. Thank you for the support -- Keep them fingers crossed!!
this is, of course, a meaningless post, certainly not trying to raise shit or praise shinola, but the female on the right could be male. Although I doubt it in this case, it seems that there are many transexuals or transgendered individuals who go through a ton of surgery. A lower rib removal could allow for an appearance of a curvy hipped woman. I think it is awful but we live in a society that encourages such surgeries.
