I've been doing some warm up sketching on long, thin strips of scrap paper and I kind of think they look cool. Some of the figures were done looking at references but most of the drawing on the strips is from imagination.

I just read this at Newsarama:

September will see an Absolute Edition of Frank Miller’s Ronin, which was originally published from 1983-1984. The timing places the six issue miniseries after Miller’s initial run on Daredevil (but before “Born Again”) and before The Dark Knight. The story spans centuries, starting in feudal Japan where a young ronin sought to avenge his former master who was slain by a demon. The ronin was successful, but was trapped in a curse the demon uttered with its dying breath that linked the two. Centuries later, in a New York overrun by the bio-engineered Aquarius Complex, a boy begins to have dreams about an ancient ronin warrior, and the complex is invaded by an unstoppable terror – the two enemies live again.

My Trickster art is getting very near being finished. I've inked all the pages and I'm knee deep in the colouring of them now. I'm not going to post any colour work from it just yet. I want to make sure everything is how I want it.... but, in the meantime, here's a panel from page 2.

Can't Stop Rockin'

I haven't had time to do an update in the last week or so due to the fact I was away on vacation in the Cozumel Mexico area. Well, it was sort of a vacation. Jackie had a work conference to attend and it just happened to be on a cruise ship (one of the many perks of working for EA Games) so I tagged along.

I spent a good portion of each day on my own, as Jackie had work related things that required her participation. But, being caught with some deadlines approaching, most of that alone time was spent in the cabin doing comic book colouring on a laptop. Hours and hours of comic book colouring.

I'm new to the colouring thing but the pages are looking pretty good, I think. I'm using a very simple style of colouring, almost no airbrush/special effects, just flat colours. It seems to fit the line art well. I just need to learn to letter and write and I'll be a one man comic book factory!

Now, will someone please make the world stop rocking like I'm still on the ship.....
