Just Got Back From Baby's

Just got back from a few days away. The Coplands spent a couple of days up at Whistler, just chillin'... literally. Man, it was cold up there.

Santa was good to me. I got a bunch of comic trades... let's see... Alien Legion Omnibus, Northlanders: Sven The Returned, The Umbrella Academy: Dallas, Scalped: Dead Mothers and Jack Kirby's: The Demon! Nice haul, no?

Raphael, of Teenage Mutant Ninja fame.

Perfect Love... Gone Wrong

Not perfect but whatyagonnado? Don't have time to smooth out the rough edges on this. The Perhapanauts aren't going to ink themselves.

Last Rose of Summer

I just can't seem to get the Turtles out of my mind when I sit to sketch. In truth, Donatello was the one turtle that I never really got excited about. To a young boy, his weapon was just too boring. C'mon, a big long stick? Plus, Don was the brainy one that would sit in the corner and mix broken appliances and such. Borrrrrrring. But, here's my take on an older Donatello.

I drew this while sitting in the front yard taking in the last of the summer sun.

Colour version of this will happen in the next day or so.

Sick For Toys

Raphael was always my favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Most likely because his chosen weapon was the Sai, which happened to be the same weapon Frank Miller's Elektra preferred. Also, he was the wild one of the pack, if I remember correctly. The wild ones are always more interesting, aren't they? I was only into them for the first 8 issues of the initial run and, even then, I only really dug the first 3 or 4. I have a Raphael figure that I bought all those many years ago which has become my son's toy, now. Every once and a while he lets me play with it... like last night. This drawing came from the couple of minutes I was granted with the figurine.

I've been sick for the past few days and I'm not getting better. Grrrrr. Doesn't my body know I need to do some major Perhapanauts inking? The pages are all penciled and the ink will begin to flow today!
